Sculptor Spirit: Life in the Holy Spirit

Lutherans often don’t talk about the Holy Spirit much, but that doesn’t mean that the Spirit doesn’t have a very important role to play in our lives as followers of Jesus. We’ve invited Dr. Leo Sánchez from Concordia Seminary, whose work has focused on The Holy Spirit, to join us for Pentecost and he will be hosting a workshop and Q&A on Saturday, June 4 from 10 AM-12 PM in the Fellowship Room. He’ll help guide us to a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives and how He shapes us to be more like Jesus! Light brunch will be served and there is no cost to attend.

About the Presenter: Dr. Leopoldo Sanchez

Sánchez is one of the few scholars in the Missouri Synod who has devoted his teaching and writing career to studying and expounding on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit in a day and age when Pentecostalism or Neo-Pentecostalism is growing by leaps and bounds around the world. In good Lutheran fashion, he focuses on the relationship between of the Holy Spirit to Jesus Christ, both in terms of the Spirit’s work in the ministry of Jesus and the way in which Jesus now carries out his work through the Holy Spirit. And in bringing our attention to the person and work of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Sánchez shows how we can recover a lively doctrine of sanctification without infringing or diminishing the doctrine of Justification.
